FLS - 141 Elementary Spanish I

In a changing world, with globalization of markets and the increase of Spanish-speakers in the United States, it is very important in nearly every career to know at least some Spanish. Designed for students with little or no previous study of Spanish. Focus is on the student acquiring the fundamentals of Spanish, including pronunciation, basic grammar needed to express who, what, when, where, how, and action in the present and near future. Basic vocabulary will be learned to enhance speaking, listening, writing, and reading skills. Increase global awareness by video shorts, songs, and short readings. Basic vocabulary will be learned to enhance speaking, listening, writing, and reading skills. New grammar includes being able to communicate in the present tense and giving commands for common verbs. Students are expected to use as much Spanish as possible with classmates and the instructor.
