MAP - 353 Clinical Procedures I

Corequisites: BCA - 129 Basic Word Processing; BUS - 121 Business Communications; HSC - 120 Medical Terminology I; HSC - 150 Body Structure and Function or BIO - 206 Anatomy and Physiology I and BIO - 207 Anatomy and Physiology II.
This course prepares the student to assist the physician with examinations, treatments and diagnostic procedures. The course includes first aid, aseptic technique, sterilizing instruments, and routine diagnostic tests. The course includes obtaining and recording patient data utilizing the electronic medical record including medical terminology. If the student is taking course work for the medical assistant curriculum beyond a one-year period, this course should be taken during the final year of the curriculum.
