PTA - 230 Rehab for Medical Conditions

Prerequisite: PTA - 499 PTA Clinic I.
This course studies rehabilitation for various medical conditions. Physical therapy treatment techniques to improve cardiovascular and pulmonary function are presented. Special topics discussed are diabetes, vascular disorders, amputation, pregnancy, pelvic floor dysfunction, breast cancer and osteoporosis. Prosthetics and orthotics will also be addressed. Appropriate selection, instruction, and progression of exercise into a treatment session are discussed. Students will practice techniques in lab.
