LIT - 131 Native American Literature

Prerequisite: ENG - 105 Composition I, or comparable course, or approval of instructor.
A study of the writings of major American Indians from precontact with Europeans to contemporary times. Legends, autobiographies, letters, speeches, poetry, novels and short stories will be studied as works of literature. Discussion and writing will focus on the critical analysis of the works.
