MAT - 161 Business Statistics (3 s.h.)
Prerequisite: MAT - 156 Introduction to Statistics or permission of instructor. Business Statistics is intended to look at the use of statistical methods as an analytical tool in business situations. It covers data collection, sampling, data analysis, estimation and hypothesis testing, regression and correlation analysis, multinomial experiments and contingency tables, analysis of variance, and nonparametric statistics. The content of this course also provides students an opportunity to use and sharpen NIACC general education skills, particularly quantitative skills and critical thinking skills. The use of TI 83/84 graphing calculators and statistical software is incorporated into the course. The course is intended to follow an introductory statistics course.
