MAT - 063 Elementary Algebra

Prerequisite: MAT - 053 Pre-Algebra  with a grade of C or higher, or Accuplacer Arithmetic score of at least 59, or Accuplacer Elementary Algebra score of at least 50, or ACT Math score of at least 16, or SAT Math score of at least 380, or an ALEKS score between 14-29.
This course is intended for students who have had no previous experience in Algebra. Topics include: the real number system, linear and quadratic equations, exponents, factoring, rational expressions, graphing, systems of equations, radicals, the quadratic formula, square root manipulation, and application of concepts. Credit earned will not satisfy the requirements for an Associate Degree and will not be used in calculating the cumulative grade point average for graduation. Course is taught in competency-based instruction format.
