MAT - 053 Pre-Algebra

Prerequisite: Accuplacer Arithmetic score of at least 23, or Accuplacer Elementary Algebra score of at least 32, or ACT score of at least 12, or SAT score of at least 240, or ALEKS score below 14.
This course is intended to prepare students for an entry-level math course such as Elementary Algebra or Applied Math. The course covers the basic computational skills with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages, and integers. Credit earned will not satisfy the requirements for an Associate Degree and will not be used in calculating cumulative grade point average for graduation. Course is taught in competency-based instruction format.
