The Industrial Technician is a Diploma program designed to prepare the graduate for immediate employment as an industrial machinery mechanic or machinery maintenance worker in a variety of settings where large machinery is crucial to the operation of a facility.
Completion of this program prepares graduate to enter the following occupations:
- Electromechanical Technician
- Industrial Maintenance Technician
- Electronics Technician
- Industrial Process Control Technician
- Instrumentation Technician
- Control Systems Technician
- Computer Automated Process Control Technician
Employment of industrial machinery mechanics is projected to grow 14 percent from 2021 to 2031, much faster than the average for all occupations. The increased adoption of sophisticated manufacturing machinery will require more mechanics to keep machines in good working order. Upon successful completion of the Industrial Technician curriculum with a grade point average of 2.00 (C) or higher, the student is awarded a Diploma.
