Paraeducator Generalist Certification (NIACC Workforce Academy)


The Paraeducator Generalist Certification program is designed to provide foundational knowledge for supporting students in K-12 educational settings. It covers adaptive strategies for curriculum implementation and classroom management, along with an examination of American education’s history, philosophy, and sociology. The program also delves into school organization, funding, curriculum, legal issues, and the integration of diverse student populations into general education environments. The course includes a 30-hour classroom observation requirement to enhance practical understanding. 

Duration: 1 semester, approximately 16 weeks 

Format: Hybrid (combination of online and in-person instruction)
