Information Technology Specialist, A.A.S.

The Information Technology Specialist degree program prepares students for careers supporting and maintaining organizational IT infrastructure. The program focuses on building hands-on skills needed to deploy, manage, troubleshoot, and secure workstation, server, and network environments. Students develop practical experience in operating systems, Windows server administration, networking, virtualized and cloud environments, system monitoring, authentication and access control, and data protection. Through applied coursework and internship experiences, graduates leave the program prepared to support, maintain, and secure the information systems that organizations rely on every day, with a strong foundation for continued growth in the IT field.

Industry Certification Preparation

Coursework within the Information Technology programs helps prepare students for industry-recognized certifications aligned to each credential level.

Students completing the full AAS degree receive comprehensive coursework and hands-on experience that help prepare them to pursue industry-recognized certifications such as:

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Linux+
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • CompTIA Cloud+
  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
  • Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800)
  • Microsoft MD-102 Endpoint Administrator

Upon successful completion of the Information Technology Specialist curriculum (at least 60 semester hours) with a grade point average of 2.00 (C) or higher, the student is awarded an Associate in Applied Science Degree.
