Graphic Design Certificate

Location(s): Main Campus

The Graphic Design Certificate is a one-semester credential designed to provide students with immediate entry into the fundamentals of visual communication and design practice. The program emphasizes studio-based, hands-on learning using industry-standard tools in a Mac lab equipped with Adobe Creative Cloud. Coursework introduces core concepts in 2D design, graphic design, drawing, photography, and written communication, supporting both creative development and professional presentation.

This certificate is ideal for career changers, working professionals seeking to upskill, and students exploring transfer or longer-term design pathways. Upon completion, students develop foundational design competencies and a starter portfolio suitable for entry-level creative roles or continued study. Credits apply directly toward the Graphic Design Diploma or the Graphic Communications A.A.S. degree, providing a clear stackable pathway.

Not all courses are offered every semester; students should follow the recommended sequence and review prerequisites with an advisor to ensure timely completion within financial aid guidelines.

Upon successful completion of the Graphic Design curriculum with a grade point average of 2.00 (C) or higher, the student is awarded a Certificate. All students are highly encouraged to participate in an internship before graduating.
