The Graphic Design Diploma is a one-year, career-focused program that prepares students for entry-level positions in studio, in-house, and production-based design environments. Building on foundational coursework in design, drawing, photography, and composition, students advance into digital illustration, 3D design, and graphic design production while gaining exposure to business and professional practices.
Instruction is studio-intensive and project-based, using Adobe Creative Cloud in a state-of-the-art Mac lab. Flexible elective options allow students to tailor their studies toward web design, animation, fine arts, entrepreneurship, or workplace professionalism, supporting diverse creative career goals. The program emphasizes portfolio development, technical proficiency, and real-world design workflows.
Graduates leave with a professional portfolio and market-ready skills for immediate employment, and credits apply toward the Graphic Communications A.A.S. degree or potential transfer pathways. The program is eligible for financial aid. Students should consult the catalog and advisors regarding prerequisites, course sequencing, and elective selection to remain on track for completion.
Upon successful completion of the Graphic Design curriculum with a grade point average of 2.00 (C) or higher, the student is awarded a Diploma. All students are highly encouraged to participate in an internship before graduating.
