• The Iowa Department of Education has requirements in the Teacher Education program.  As students enroll in the academic department of their chosen content area (and later apply for admission to Iowa State’s teacher education program), 4-year plans are therefore specific to that program.
• A minimum 2.5 GPA is required for acceptance into the Teacher Education Program in the College of Human Sciences.
• Students entering ISU for secondary licensure are admitted into the college that offers their teaching subject.
• ISU has a foreign language requirement of three years of high school or two semesters of college level.
• See U. S. Diversity (3 s.h.) and International Perspective (3 s.h.) requirements for ISU.
• NOTE:  AA degree meets the requirements for general education from the College of Liberal Arts.
