MFG - 320 Computer Aided Machining (3 s.h.)
Prerequisites: MFG - 110 3-D Modeling ; MFG - 226 Machine Operations I ; MFG - 208 Machine Theory II ; MFG - 302 CNC Fundamentals ; or instructor approval. Corequisites: MFG - 424 Jig and Fixtures ; or instructor approval. This course introduces how to utilize a CNC programming software system. Using 3-D models and engineered drawings, students program various parts for CNC mills, CNC lathes, and EDM. Related topics include: job planning, tool selection, construction of a process model, tool path verification, simulation, CAD, CAM data transfer, CNC code generation, and CNC machine setup and operation.
