This program is designed to give students a thorough background in blood collection, including demonstration of venipuncture and skin puncture techniques, followed by an opportunity to gain competency during the clinical experience.
Upon successful completion of this program graduates will receive a certificate of completion and be eligible to sit for national certification exams.
This program includes 40 hours of online learning and in-person lab experience at the NIACC campus. Upon successful completion of theory and lab, 100 hours of clinical practicum will follow at approved area hospitals and clinics.
Entrance Requirements
Applicants must be a high school graduate or equivalent and be at least 18 years of age to enroll in this program. Applicants will be required to undergo a criminal background check prior to entering the clinical practicum. In addition, all participants will be required to meet all training, immunization, and physical requirements of the designated clinical site, to be eligible to advance to clinical.
